Property Tax Deferral Program Application Form

Town of Aurora has implemented deferrals for the 2020 interim and final property tax bill payments for residential property owners and businesses that have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligible applicants will have their 2020 Interim and Final Property Tax Bill payments deferred.

Each application must be completed by the owner(s) of the property. A confirmation of your eligibility will be sent by email.

Applications must be submitted by the property owner. If applicants wish to defer their payments, they need to submit an applications prior to each due date with their up to date documentation.

All tax levies are due by December 1, 2020.

If you are registered for pre-authorized payment (monthly or due date):

If you currently pay your property taxes through a pre-authorized debit plan and want to take advantage of the deferral program and delay payment of your interim and final property tax bill, your pre-authorized debit plan will be cancelled once your application form has been approved. Should you wish to reinstate your plan for next year, you will be required to submit a new application form by November 30, 2020.

If your mortgage company pays your property taxes:

If your application to the deferral program is approved, you must contact your financial institution directly and advise them to delay your payments.

Attach copies of related documents, screenshots or legible pictures such as: notice of business closure, notice of layoff, notice of temporary suspension of pay, forced closure notice and any additional related information or documentation.

The Town may require further information and clarification at a later date in order to complete and process your application.
